Agilent has expanded the ESA-L series, a new, low-cost, fully synthetic spectrum analyzer that can work to 3.0 and 26.5 GHz. It can quickly obtain accurate results at any time at a moderate price. The instrument has the performance of a high-end spectrum analyzer and a sturdy chassis that can be adapted to be used at the maintenance site.
Fast measurement speed
ESA-L series has a display rate of ≥28 measurement updates/sec and a display rate of ≥30 measurement updates/sec via GPIB and an advanced 5ms scan time, which can shorten test time and improve production efficiency.
Accurate test results
Continuous phase-locked synthesizer improves the stability and repeatability of frequency measurement, while automatic auxiliary adjustment provides continuous calibration. In addition, the far-sighted performance can be achieved after only 5 minutes of booting. This includes ±1.1dB amplitude below 3.0GHz and ±2.6dB amplitude accuracy below 26.5GHz.
Portable use
The optional flexible snap-in battery eliminates the limitation of the power cord. The optional 12Vdc power cable allows direct use of the car battery for work.
Strong packaging and structure
ESA-L series has a sealed front panel, louvered vents, and a fan is installed on the side to protect the instrument under various climatic conditions, so it is particularly suitable for use in maintenance on-site environments. The rubber-encapsulated front and rear frames can withstand severe vibration during transportation.

PC software for ESA-L series
BenchLink XL PC software facilitates the direct transmission of ESA measurement trace data to MS Excel electronic reports or direct transmission of screen images to MS Word files for analysis, archiving, display or printing. The measurement results can be transmitted via GPIB, RS232 or LAN (using two PCs or an E2050A GPIB/LAN adapter). The analyzer status can be stored and restored. The unattended operation of repeated measurement sequences can be transmitted by date and time. BenchLink XL includes standard parts and GPIB and RS232 options.
